Even though a person has a right to do something, he or she does not have the right to do everything. A person can have a right to do something, but they cannot have a right to do everything. In the case of the State intervening, this would be interfering with another person’s rights. The State has a duty to interfere where it is necessary, but interfering with someone else’s rights is not one of those situations. When it comes down to it, the best thing for all people is that there be no need for intervention at all.
